Materials coordinators are responsible for managing the flow of raw materials, components and supplies through a manufacturing operation. They work at the intersection of purchasing, production planning, inventory management and warehouse operations — making sure materials are available when production needs them, stock levels are maintained accurately and supplier deliveries are tracked and actioned.
The role is broader than a purchasing officer but narrower than a supply chain manager. What we screen for
- Demonstrated experience in a materials coordination, purchasing or supply chain support role within a manufacturing environment
- ERP or inventory system experience. SAP, MYOB, Pronto, NetSuite or similar.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities without losing track of detail
- Proactive communication style across internal production teams and external suppliers
- Understanding of MRP processes and how materials planning connects to production scheduling
