With over two decades experience servicing these industries and developing their operations, the position is now available for you to secure their designated Purchasing Officer position which will have you managing all purchasing and inventory responsibilities for the business.

Your New Focus

  • Managing the purchasing function ensuring at all times stock on hand is maintained to prevent supply outages
  • Build long-term and meaningful relationships with suppliers
  • Organise new inventory items pricing
  • Update stock locations ensuring at all times the in-demand stock is easily accessible with the Stores Tea
  • Ensure timely and best price purchasing ensuring stock levels are maintained at all times
  • Ensure the inventory and purchasing function is well organised, following up outstanding purchase orders with suppliers, sourcing alternate supply lines as required and continually reviewing quality, service, supply and price
  • Ensure accurate reporting across stock lines and actual vs budget
  • Manage weekly stocktake ensuring one bay per week is completed and as required support the other Internal Business Areas including the Warehouse and Counter Sales with order fulfilment and Trade Sales as required

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Business Owner, you will be responsible for leading the purchasing function
and ensuring stock is available, appropriately priced and accurately recorded. This is a hands-on role
with visibility across the business and plenty of interaction with suppliers, warehouse and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the purchasing function, ensuring stock on hand is maintained to prevent supply outages
  • Build and maintain long-term, meaningful relationships with suppliers
  • Set up and organise pricing for new inventory items
  • Update stock locations to ensure high-demand items are easily accessible for the Stores Team
  • Ensure timely purchasing at the best possible price while maintaining appropriate stock levels
  • Keep the inventory and purchasing function well organised, following up outstanding purchase orders
  • Source alternate supply lines where needed and continually review quality, service, supply and price
  • Ensure accurate reporting across stock lines, including actual vs budget
