About the role:

Reporting to the Managing Director, the key responsibilities of the Estimator role include;

• Develop relationships with customers and keep abreast of industry tenders
• Preparing estimates for construction projects including managing and controlling financial and technical aspects in conjunction with the management team for estimates
• Participating in the submission of major tenders
• Investigating & reporting on any quoted service submissions which are not approved by client
• Initiating and maintaining estimating procedures, ensuring compliance at all times
• Providing ongoing contract input and advice in relation to quoted services & tender submissions to the Management team

About you:

You will have relevant qualifications and demonstrated experience estimating within the civil, geotechnical, deep basement and piling space, a proven working knowledge of MS Project or associated industry standard software along with having the commercial awareness and understanding of financial administration and project costing.

Reporting to the Managing Director you will be actively involved in the preparation through to submission of tenders for civil infrastructure, bulk earthworks, deep basin and drainage works.

With Tertiary Qualifications and experience in Civil, Basement and Building you will ensure that all estimates are executed in accordance with client specifications and company procedures along with but not limited to:

• Issuing request for quotations for tenders and ensuring tender deadlines are met with a proven track record of working to strict deadlines
• Execution of Estimates in accordance with the client specifications and the company’s procedures
• Practical site-based construction experience
• Conduct site inspections and contract negotiations
• Ensure quality, safety and environmental requirements are accommodated in tender submissions
• Document control and monthly reporting
• Negotiation and Client liaison
• Proficient in planning, organizing and working to timelines
• Ability to use specialist software including proprietary programming tools (ie. MS Project), estimating tools, drawing tools and others
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
