based in Morningside, has a long-standing heritage servicing industries including Civil, Domestic and
Commercial Construction, Metal Fabrication and Manufacturing, to name a few.
With over two decades of experience supporting these sectors and steadily developing their operations,
the business is now looking to appoint a dedicated Purchasing Officer to manage all
purchasing and inventory responsibilities.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Business Owner, you will be responsible for leading the purchasing function
and ensuring stock is available, appropriately priced and accurately recorded. This is a hands-on role
with visibility across the business and plenty of interaction with suppliers, warehouse and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the purchasing function, ensuring stock on hand is maintained to prevent supply outages
- Build and maintain long-term, meaningful relationships with suppliers
- Set up and organise pricing for new inventory items
- Update stock locations to ensure high-demand items are easily accessible for the Stores Team
- Ensure timely purchasing at the best possible price while maintaining appropriate stock levels
- Keep the inventory and purchasing function well organised, following up outstanding purchase orders
- Source alternate supply lines where needed and continually review quality, service, supply and price
- Ensure accurate reporting across stock lines, including actual vs budget
- Manage weekly stocktake (one bay per week) and support internal business areas such as Warehouse and
Counter Sales with order fulfilment and Trade Sales, as required
